New businesses add vibrancy to downtown Austin in early 2025

Austin’s downtown area has welcomed several new businesses in 2025, ranging from cafes to retail shops. These establishments bring a unique flair and energy to the community.

Aburi Oshi Sushi, founded by Seigo Nakamura, offers a distinctive sushi experience at Ellis at Fareground. Atown, a boutique gift shop on 2nd Street, sells locally made products and curated goods. The Austin Visitor Center & Gift Shop has relocated to 5th Street, offering enhanced amenities such as the 5th & Brew Coffee Shop and bookable tours.

Café Crème has expanded to the Central Austin Library with a menu featuring crepes and sandwiches. Golden Ace on 2nd Street is a new lounge led by mixologist Christian Suzuki-Orellana, blending Japanese elegance with Texas spirit. Golden Boy at Fareground presents a chef-driven seasonal menu.

IPanini operates as a mobile kitchen near the Old Bakery & Emporium, serving Italian panini crafted by Chef Joaquin Hernandez. JABS brings its acclaimed smash burgers to Fareground. The One on 4th Street serves as an upscale co-working lounge and event venue.

Pvolve offers fitness classes with innovative equipment on Congress Avenue. Serenade is an American Brasserie located in the W Hotel on 2nd Street. Sushi | Bar provides an intimate omakase experience praised by major publications.

TOATS, an EDM nightclub on 4th Street, opened late December but is considered one of the first new spots of 2025.
