Motorcyclist dies in Austin’s latest fatal crash; investigation underway

Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash in the 1900 block of East Braker Lane early Thursday morning. The incident occurred at 2:10 a.m. on July 31, 2025. Upon arrival, officers found a single motorcycle involved in the collision. The driver, who remains unidentified, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:28 a.m.

This marks Austin’s 57th fatal crash of the year, with a total of 61 fatalities so far in 2025. In comparison, by this date in 2024, there had been 47 fatal crashes resulting in 50 deaths.

The investigation into this crash is ongoing and initial assessments have been made public. However, details may change as more information becomes available. Authorities urge anyone with information about the incident to contact APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit at 512-974-8111.
