Manor New Tech High School senior Jaswanth Thanikanti has been named a Semifinalist in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. This recognition places him among approximately 16,000 students nationwide who have achieved high scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

Principal Bobby Garcia commented on the achievement, saying, “Jaswanth is the kind of student who leads by example. He is humble, focused, and deeply committed to his goals. His recognition as a National Merit Semifinalist is a reflection of his determination and the supportive learning environment we strive to create at Manor New Tech. We couldn’t be prouder of him.”

As a Semifinalist, Thanikanti will have the chance to move forward in the competition and potentially become a Finalist. Finalists are eligible for National Merit Scholarships, which are awarded in the spring.

The National Merit Scholarship Program was established in 1955 and recognizes high-achieving students across the United States, encouraging them to pursue challenging academic and career paths.
