Manor New Tech High School student Joshua Rhea has been named to the Texas All-State Choir, becoming only the second student in both Manor ISD and Manor New Tech High School history to achieve this recognition. The selection comes after a competitive audition process that assesses vocal skills, sight-reading, and musical interpretation. Only top student musicians from across Texas are chosen for this honor.
As part of the All-State Choir, Rhea will perform with other leading student vocalists at the Texas Music Educators Association All-State Clinic and Convention. This event is considered one of the most respected fine arts gatherings in the state and provides students with a prominent stage to represent their districts.
Manor Independent School District serves more than 10,000 students across 15 campuses in Texas. It offers equitable, high-quality education through dual language programs, career certifications, and pathways to associate degrees. The district supports student success in academics, arts, and community involvement according to its official website. Manor ISD also encourages participation in athletics and fine arts through annual signing opportunities and recognition such as being named a District of Distinction in visual arts by the Texas Art Education Association.
