Manor Independent School District (ISD) will expand its after-school and summer programming to all campuses, using funding from Travis County’s Child Care and Out-of-School Time (OST) Special Revenue Fund. The expansion is supported by the district’s ongoing partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area.

Superintendent Dr. Sormani said, “These partnerships allow us to meet one of the greatest needs in our community: reliable, high-quality child care. By expanding after-school and summer programming, we are ensuring that our parents have the support they need, and our students have access to safe, enriching environments that set them up for future success. We are deeply grateful to Travis County and the Boys & Girls Clubs for helping us make this vision a reality for all Manor ISD families.”

The OST Fund was established after Travis County voters approved it to address a shortage of affordable child care and after-school options. The fund aims to help working families by supporting programs that provide children with safe and accessible opportunities outside regular school hours and during summer.

Travis County Judge Andy Brown stated, “Investing in childcare benefits our kids, their families, and this entire community. With this funding, an additional 1,500 Manor ISD students will have access to quality afterschool and summer programming, setting them up for success in school, career, and life. We’re grateful to Manor ISD for their partnership as we begin to roll out our Travis County childcare program.”

Currently, after-school and summer programs through the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area are available at several elementary schools within Manor ISD: Blake Manor Elementary, Decker Elementary, Oak Meadows Elementary, Bluebonnet Trail Elementary, Lagos Elementary, Pioneer Crossing Elementary, Presidential Meadows Elementary, and ShadowGlen Elementary.

Additional campuses are expected to receive these services later in the spring. The district plans to notify families about enrollment procedures once opening dates are finalized.
