Manor Independent School District (ISD) has been recognized for its dedication to theatre education, earning the title of Texas Educational Theatre Association (TxETA) Outstanding District of Distinction for 2025. This honor was awarded to only 36 districts across Texas, with Manor ISD being one of three districts acknowledged at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

Several campuses within Manor ISD received individual recognition under TxETA’s Award of Distinction program. These include Manor New Tech Middle School as an Exemplary Campus of Distinction, Decker Elementary School as an Exemplary Campus of Distinction, Decker Middle School as an Outstanding Campus of Distinction, and Manor New Tech High School as an Outstanding Campus of Distinction.

The Award of Distinction acknowledges schools and districts that contribute significantly to raising standards in theatre education. The criteria for this award include the quality and quantity of theatrical performances, resources like play libraries and acting spaces, community support for theatre programs, student involvement in UIL contests, participation in Theatrical Design competitions, and advancements in theatre technology.

Travis Springfield, Past President of the Texas Educational Theatre Association said: “We applaud the Manor Independent School District for their remarkable efforts in promoting theatre arts. Their programs serve as a model of creativity, community, and educational excellence.”

This achievement highlights the commitment and passion from both educators and students within Manor ISD towards advancing arts education. TxETA aims to support educational theatre by providing opportunities and creating a network for resources while establishing standards to celebrate the importance of theatre.
