Ana Cortez, president of the Manor Independent School District Board, will participate as a featured dancer at the upcoming “Renaissance with the Stars” gala. The event is organized by the San Antonio Area African American Community Fund (SAAAACF) and is scheduled for August 9, 2025, at the Tobin Performing Arts Center in San Antonio.

The annual fundraising event aims to promote financial philanthropy to improve the quality of life for African Americans in the San Antonio area. The evening will include dinner and dance performances from local community leaders who partner with professional dancers.

Cortez will represent both Manor ISD and the Mexican American School Boards Association (MASBA) during her performance. According to organizers, she is recognized for her leadership and commitment to equity in education.

“Known for her passionate leadership and commitment to equity in education, Cortez brings her signature energy and heart to the stage, all while raising funds to benefit the African American community in the greater San Antonio area,” event organizers said.
