Ana Cortez, president of the Manor Independent School District Board of Trustees, has been named a 2025 Woman of Distinction by the Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce (TAMACC). The award recognizes Latina leaders who have made significant contributions in their fields and communities throughout Texas.

Cortez received the honor at TAMACC’s annual Women of Distinction Awards Luncheon on August 1, 2025. The event highlighted twelve women from across the state for their work in leadership, public service, business, and advocacy. This year’s theme was “Celebrate Excellence. Honor Legacy. Inspire the Future.”

According to TAMACC, “This isn’t just a luncheon,” adding, “it’s a celebration of bold leadership, unstoppable resilience, and rich cultural heritage.” The organization noted that attendees would hear stories from honorees such as Cortez who are helping pave the way for future generations in Texas.

Cortez is recognized for her commitment to equity in education and her efforts to support underrepresented communities through her role as board president. Her leadership aligns with TAMACC’s values of vision, cultural pride, and legacy-building.

TAMACC was established in 1975 as a nonprofit focused on promoting Hispanic business leadership and advocating for economic opportunities at the legislative level. Since its founding with fewer than twenty members, it has grown to represent more than 15,000 members and advocates for over 700,000 Hispanic-owned businesses statewide.
