Manor Independent School District announced on March 13 that it has started the process of developing its 2027–2032 Strategic Plan, Mission, and Vision. The district began this work with a two-day Strategic Planning Retreat attended by seventy-four students, staff, and community members.
The initiative aims to create a roadmap for the district’s future, setting clear goals and priorities to guide decisions affecting students, staff, and schools. Dr. Robert Sormani, Superintendent of Schools, said the process is designed to ensure that “every decision we make as a district should ultimately lead to better opportunities and outcomes for the students we serve.”
During the retreat, participants reflected on Manor ISD’s past achievements and current status while discussing aspirations for students in coming years. A student panel opened the event and helped shape discussions. Over the next several months, teams will collaborate to develop strategies supporting the district’s mission and vision. Action Teams will be formed from March 30 through April 2; these teams will receive training in early April before meeting multiple times between mid-April and mid-May to draft detailed action plans. Updates will be shared on May 21, with a proposed plan presented to the Board of Trustees on June 15.
According to the official website, Manor Independent School District serves more than 10,000 students across fifteen campuses including eight elementary schools, three middle schools, one PreK-8 campus, three high schools, and one alternative learning campus. The district has been recognized as a District of Distinction in visual arts by the Texas Art Education Association according to the official website. It also supports students pursuing college-level athletics through annual signing opportunities according to the official website.
Community involvement is encouraged through student-led initiatives focused on positive contributions according to the official website. The district emphasizes providing equitable, high-quality education aimed at supporting each scholar’s full development according to the official website.
Dr. Sormani concluded by inviting community members to follow updates on this process via the Manor ISD Strategic Plan website: “I am excited for our community to see the work that will come from this process and the direction it will help set for Manor ISD in the years ahead. When we work together and stay focused on what is best for students, we can build an even stronger future for our district and the community we proudly serve.”
