Peter Hopkins has been appointed as the new Head Football Coach and Athletic Coordinator at Manor High School. Hopkins is recognized for his leadership in building athletic programs that emphasize culture, structure, and pride.

Before joining Manor High School, Hopkins served as Associate Head Football Coach, Offensive and Recruiting Coordinator at Humble High School. There, he contributed to a program competing in one of Texas’s most competitive 6A UIL Football districts. His responsibilities included promoting discipline and accountability among student-athletes both on the field and in the classroom.

Under Hopkins’s guidance at Humble High School, the football team achieved its best start and record since 2019. More than 30 student-athletes received All-District honors during his tenure. He was acknowledged with several Coach of the Week awards and was named Coach of the Year. In addition to coaching, he managed daily athletic operations, implemented a character development program, and worked to improve student-athlete attendance.

Hopkins’s coaching experience includes roles at Louisiana Tech University, Kilgore College, Tyler Junior College, La Marque High School, and Klein Oak High School. At these institutions, he helped develop championship teams and supported student-athletes advancing to higher levels of competition.

“We are excited to welcome Coach Hopkins to Manor High School,” said Athletic Director Carlesa Dixon. “His ability to build strong foundations, mentor young leaders, and create pride and loyalty within a program aligns with our vision for our students and our athletic community.”

Hopkins will begin his new role this spring as he prepares to lead the Mustangs into a period focused on growth both on and off the field.
