APD Detectives have arrested Timmel Eggleston in connection to the homicide of Alan Picazzo at 91 Red River Street. According to the update, Eggleston is the individual who shot and killed Picazzo, leading to a warrant for First Degree Felony Murder being issued for his arrest. Eggleston is currently in custody at Travis County Jail.

In the original release, it was detailed that on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 6:30 a.m., APD officers responded to reports of shots fired at The Quincy apartments on Red River Street. Alan Picazzo was found with gunshot wounds and later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. The investigation revealed that Picazzo had been in a disturbance with another individual before the shooting occurred.

The Austin Police Department urges anyone with information regarding the case to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest.

This incident marks Austin’s 17th homicide of 2024.
