The Long Center for Performing Arts is hosting a film series in partnership with The University of Texas at Austin College of Natural Sciences. The series, called “Reel Science,” features presentations by researchers and screenings of science-themed documentaries produced by Sandbox Films, a studio known for its focus on scientific topics.

One event in the series will showcase the documentary “Fireball.” This film examines how meteor impacts have influenced Earth’s history over billions of years. It looks at the effects these events have had on life and culture, as well as their ongoing presence in scientific research and mythology.

Each event includes an in-person talk from experts before the documentary screening. The goal is to highlight both the art and process of scientific inquiry through film and discussion.
