Homicide investigation underway after fatal shooting at Austin gas station

Austin police are investigating a homicide that occurred early Sunday morning at the Apple Mart gas station on Wickersham Lane. Officers responded to a call at approximately 12:29 a.m. about a person bleeding on the ground. Upon arrival, they found Keaton Delcore, who had suffered trauma to his neck.

Delcore, a white male born on February 9, 1996, was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1 a.m. According to initial investigations, Delcore had an interaction with an unidentified male in the parking lot before being shot. The suspect then fled the scene.

Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists have been processing evidence and interviewing witnesses. Authorities are urging anyone with photos, videos, or other potential evidence to submit them through provided channels. Individuals with information can contact the Austin Police Department at 512-974-TIPS or submit tips anonymously via the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program at austincrimestoppers.org or by calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for information leading to an arrest.

This incident marks Austin’s 30th homicide of the year.
