Austin FC defender Brendan Hines-Ike and forward Myrto Uzuni have been selected for the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Matchday bench. Their performances were instrumental in Austin FC’s 1-0 victory over St. Louis City SC on Sunday at Energizer Park.
Both players received their first Team of the Matchday honors for the 2025 season. Hines-Ike, who captained the team, played the entire match and contributed significantly to the team’s defensive efforts. He made 12 clearances and won all seven of his duels, aiding Austin FC in securing its third clean sheet of the season.
Uzuni scored the decisive goal, finishing a low cross from Osman Bukari in the 33rd minute. This marked his first goal for Austin FC. The Albanian international also created two chances and completed all 14 of his passes during the match.
