Austin FC has issued the following press release:

Austin FC defender Jon Gallagher was named to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Week for Week 18, with midfielder Sebastián Driussi named to the Team of the Week bench as Austin came back to beat the Colorado Rapids 3-2 on Monday night. The result was the Club’s third-consecutive away win, and keeps the Verde & Black in second place in the MLS Supporters’ Shield standings.

After the team fell to an early two-goal deficit, Gallagher picked up two (2) first-half assists, setting up goals for Ethan Finlay and Driussi to level the score before halftime. It was the first multi-assist performance by a defender in Austin FC history.

Driussi’s goal in the first minute of first-half stoppage time – a cushioned, full-volley finish from Gallagher’s cross – was the Argentine Designated Player’s 10th goal of the season, tying him for the lead of the MLS Golden Boot race. He became the first player in Club history to score double-digit goals in a single season, and Austin is unbeaten (8-3-0) in its last 11 matches in which Driussi has scored.

The full MLS Team of the Week honors for Week 18 are as follows:
