The Eanes Independent School District Board of Trustees has made several decisions impacting the 2025-26 school year. After feedback from instructional staff, the board adjusted the student calendar to include additional professional development time for teachers. This change introduces two early release days and one full professional learning day per semester.
The board also adopted a District Improvement Plan following its review and recommendation by the District Leadership Team on April 14, 2025. Additionally, an amended spending plan for the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) was approved. The TIA program is designed to enhance teacher recruitment and retention through additional compensation based on performance and student growth.
In preparation for final recommendations at the May 20 meeting, trustees reviewed variables affecting bond capacity as part of ongoing discussions by the Long-Range Facilities Planning Committee.
Trustees approved amendments to policies regarding Transfer Revocation and Counselor Certification under the District of Innovation initiative. Other approvals included nominating Dr. Jeff Arnett for Superintendent of the Year, contracts related to bond projects, renewal of technology services, certification of instructional materials allotment, waivers for foreign exchange students, and professional development minutes.
Upcoming meetings are scheduled for May 6, 13, and 20 at Cedar Creek Elementary due to renovations at the Central Administration building. Meetings will be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person.
