Upbring, a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of children, recently unveiled its “Expanded Angel Tree Program”. This initiative aims to support children in Upbring foster homes and other programs by providing gifts and programmatic assistance during the holiday season. Scott Crews, Vice President of Development Operations at Upbring, referred to the expanded “Angel Tree Program” as a beacon of joy in these children’s lives.

Crews stated, “Children eagerly anticipate the holidays, a bright moment during an otherwise challenging time in their lives.” He further added, “Providing the joy of the season is an embodiment of the Upbring difference, something each of us can contribute to.”

According to an official press release from Upbring, its Angel Tree initiative is set to benefit more than 500 children. The beneficiaries include those in Upbring Foster In Texas (FIT) and their siblings, FIT foster families who will receive retail and restaurant gift cards, girls at Upbring New Life Children’s Center, selected participants in Upbring’s Supervised Independent Living (SIL) program called BeREAL, and students in specific Upbring Head Start locations.

The organization emphasized that community members are encouraged to contribute to the program. They can do so by purchasing gifts from a child’s wish list, making a year-round financial donation to support children or volunteering their time to wrap gifts for the Angel Tree.

Those interested in sponsoring a Christmas gift or making a contribution can do so through the official website of Upbring: https://upbring.org/angel.

Crews assumed his role as Vice President of Development Operations at Upbring in 2023. With two decades of leadership experience within the nonprofit sector under his belt, he has been instrumental in driving initiatives like the Expanded Angel Tree Program.
