Austin-based University Federal Credit Union (UFCU) has earned its second consecutive Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award.

According to the release, Gallup, a Washington, D.C.-based analytics and advisory company, presents the award to companies worldwide that have the most engaged workplace cultures. The release said Gallup recognized UFCU for prioritizing people during the COVID-19 pandemic.

UFCU CEO Tony Budet attributes the financial institution’s success to its workforce, which he calls the “backbone.”

“They demonstrate daily our mission to create a financially healthy community in which every person has the tools and guidance they need to meet their financial goals,” Budet said in the release. “We are passionate about changing lives, those of our members and of our employees, and this award is a reflection of that people-first culture.”

The release said that UFCU’s comprehensive rewards package for employees includes, but is not limited to: Fitness discounts, life and disability insurance and legal help.

According to UFCU, benefits are also extended to employees’ spouses and domestic partners.

On the credit union’s website, it said members are also crucial to success.

“We know we can’t accomplish our mission without relationships built on trust, transparency and action,” UFCU wrote.

According to the release, the recipients of the Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award are determined by data on more than two million employees spanning 276 entities across 54 industries and 96 countries.

The release said UFCU and other organizations excel in areas such as customer ratings, profitability and productivity.
