City of Austin Public Health Committee met May 11.

Meeting called to order at 9:34 a.m. 

 Committee Members Present: 

1. Council Member Kathie Tovo

Public Communication: General 

Speakers signed up prior to the meeting being called to order will each be  allowed three minutes to address their concerns regarding items not posted on  the agenda (limit of 10 speakers).  

None. 

Approval of Minutes 

1. Approve the minutes of the Public Health Committee meeting on April 13, 2022. 

Council Member Kitchen moved to approve the minutes of the Public Health  Committee meeting on April 13, 2022. Seconded by Council Member Tovo. Passed on  a 3-0 vote; Mayor Adler and Council Member Harper-Madison off the dais. 

Briefings 

4. Briefing and discussion on issues related to homelessness. 

The Committee received a briefing related to homelessness from Dianna Grey, Chief  Homeless Strategy Officer 

5. Briefing on by the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) on healthcare  issues impacting local musicians.  

The Committee received a presentation from Paul E. Scott, Chief Executive Officer,  HAAM and Rachel Blair, Chief Operating Officer, HAAM
