Chair Fuentes called the committee meeting to order at 10:03 a.m.

Approval of Minutes

1. Approve the Public Health Committee meeting minutes for the May10, 2022.

The minutes of the May 10, 2023, Public Health Committee meeting minutes were approved on unanimously consent with Council Member Kelly and Mayor Watson off the dais.

Briefing

2. Presentation of the Texas Environmental Health Association (TEHA) Thomas Edmonson Meritorious Award to Marcel Elizondo, Environmental Health Services Division Chief of the Austin Public Health Department.

Received briefing from Texas Environmental Health Association to award Marcel Elizondo the Thomas Edmonson Meritorious Award.

3. Briefing on the point in time count from the Ending Community Homelessness Coalition (ECHO).

Received briefing from Raul Alvarez Executive Director of Community Advancement Network on the services and initiatives promoting Mental Health First Aid.

4. Briefing on issues related to homelessness from the Homeless Strategy Officer.

Received briefing from Dianna Grey, Homeless Strategy Officer on issues related to homelessness.

Chair Fuentes adjourned the meeting at 11:47 a.m.

The minutes were approved on the 9h day of August 2023 passing on unanimous consent on the motion by Council Member Vela’s with a second from Mayor Watson. Council Member Kelly off the dais.
