The Austin Energy Utility Oversight Committee convened in a regular meeting at 301 W. 2nd Street in Austin, Texas.

Chair Leslie Pool called the committee meeting to order at 1:36 p.m.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

1. Approve the minutes of the July 27, 2021 Austin Energy Utility Oversight Committee meetings.

The minutes of the July 27, 2021 meeting were approved on Council Member Kelly’s motion, and Council Member Ellis’s second, on a 7-0 vote with Council Member Renteria, Council Member Harper-Madison, Council Member Casar and Council Member Tovo off the dais.

BRIEFINGS

2. General Manager’s report:

• Upcoming Requests for Council Action; provided information on four upcoming items for Council consideration

• Innovations, events, and awards:

General Manager Jackie Sargent provided the briefing.

3. 3rd Quarter Financial Briefing.

Austin Energy Director of Finance, Stephanie Koudelka provided the briefing. Chair Pool requested a future briefing on the CAP program, including discounts and rate impacts.

4. 3rd Quarter Operations Briefing.

Deputy General Manager Sidney Jackson provided the briefing.

5. Decker Creek Power Station Workforce Planning

Pat Sweeney, Vice President of Power Production provided the update on the Decker Creek workforce.

Future Items

7. Identify items to discuss at future meetings.

Council Member Alter requested a briefing on the status of the Vegetation Management Program on high wildfire risk circuits.

Vice Chair Tovo requested a briefing on Small Commercial Demand Charges.

Chair Pool recessed the meeting at 2:10 p.m.

Executive Session

6. Discuss Austin Energy generation resource issues (Certain Public Power Utilities: Competitive Matters – Section 551.086 of the Government Code).
