AUSTIN CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MEETING MINUTES

The City Council of Austin, Texas convened in a Work Session Meeting on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 301 W. 2nd Street, Austin, TX and via videoconference.

Mayor Watson called the Council Meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Council Member Harper Madison appeared via videoconference.

Mayor Watson recessed the meeting at 9:09 a.m.

Mayor Watson reconvened the meeting at 10:00 a.m.

A. PRE-SELECTED AGENDA ITEMS

A48. Approve execution of a four-year Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Austin Firefighters Association relating to wages, hours, and terms and conditions of employment for certain employees of the Austin Fire Department. Funding: $5,663,706 is available in the General Fund Operating Budget.

B. BRIEFINGS

Bl. Briefing regarding the development assessment for a proposed planned unit development (PUD) located at 1100 West Cesar Chavez Street, 206 1/2 and 220 1/2 North Lamar Boulevard -within the Lady Bird Lake Watershed -Urban Watershed [Joi Harden. Zoning Officer -Planning Department].

Postponed to December 9,2025.

B2. Briefing Presentation and discussion of the City Manager’s proposed amended budget for Fiscal Year 2025-2026. [Kerri Lang. Director, Office of Budget and Organizational Excellence].

The presentation was made by Kerri Lang, Director of Budget and Organizational Excellence; Erik Nelson, Deputy Director, Office of Budget and Organizational Excellence; Ed Van Eenoo, Chief Financial Officer.

Mayor Watson recessed the meeting at 12:21 p.m.

Mayor Watson reconvened the meeting at 1:00 p.m.

E. EXECUTIVE SESSION

El. Discussion of legal issues related to a petition-initiated ordinance concerning the Austin Convention Center. (Private consultation with legal counsel -Section 551.071 of the Government Code).

Withdrawn

Mayor Watson adjourned the meeting at 3:26 p.m. without objection.
