City of Austin City Council Met May 25.

The City Council of Austin, Texas, convened in a special called joint meeting with the Travis County Commissioners Court via Videoconference. 

Mayor Adler called the Council Meeting to order at 9:03 a.m. 

BREIFING 

1. Update on Covid-19 related matters. 

Presentation was given by Dr. Pickett, and Adrienne Sturrup, Interim Austin Public Health Director. 

Mayor Adler adjourned the Council Meeting at 10:00 a.m. without objection. 

The minutes were approved on this the 10™ day of June 2021 on Council Member Kelly’s motion, Mayor Pro Tem Harper-Madison’s second on an 11-0 vote.

Pease Park Conservancy responds to fire that destroyed Malin’s Fountain sculpture

Malin’s Fountain at Pease Park was destroyed by fire on May 21 according to officials from Pease Park Conservancy. The organization expressed sorrow over losing an artwork cherished by many residents but highlighted ongoing community support after this incident.
