City of Austin City Council met March 21.

The City Council of Austin, Texas convened in a Work Session Meeting on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 301 W. 2nd Street, Austin, TX and via Videoconference. 

Mayor Watson called the Council Meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Council Member Kelly joined via videoconference. Mayor Pro Tem Ellis, Council Members A. Alter, Fuentes, and Harper-Madison were off the dais. 

Mayor Watson recessed the meeting to go into Executive Session at 9:02 a.m. E. EXECUTIVE SESSION 

The City Council went into Executive Session, pursuant to Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, to receive advice from Legal Counsel, to discuss matters of land acquisition, litigation, and personnel matters as specifically listed on this agenda and to receive advice from Legal Counsel regarding any other item on this agenda. 

El. Discuss legal issues related to state and federal gun regulations (Private consultation with legal counsel -Section 551.071 of the Government Code). 

Conducted. 

£2. Discuss legal issues related to Acuna et al v. City of Austin et al, Cause No. D- 1-GN- 19- 008617 in the 201 st Judicial District of Travis County, Texas (Private consultation with legal counsel -Section 551.071 of the Government Code). 

Conducted. 

Executive Session ended and Alayor Watson adjourned the meeting at 10:28 a.m. without objection. 

The minutes were approved on this the 13th day of April 2023 on Council Member Velasquez’s motion, Council Member Alison Alter’s second without objection.
