Council Member Alter called the committee meeting to order at 9:36 a.m.

Approval of Minutes

1. Approve the minutes of the Audit and Finance Committee meeting of November 21, 2022.

The minutes of the November 21, 2022 Audit and Finance Committee meeting were approved on Council Member Kelly’s motion, and Council Member Tovo’s second, on a 4-0 vote with Council Member Pool off the dais.

Discussion

2. Presentation and discussion of the Cold Weather Shelters and Hot Weather Cooling Centers Audit.

The Committee received a presentation from Henry Katumwa, Office of the City Auditor.

Briefings

3. Briefing on efforts to improve the Emergency Medical Services revenue cycle

The Committee received a briefing from Chief Robert Luckritz, Emergency Medical Services.

Future Items

4. Identify items to discuss at future meetings

Austin Water external review, to be presented to the Audit and Finance Committee during the January Committee meeting. The Strategic Direction 2023 Audit and an update on the Disaster Preparedness: Winter Storm Uri Audit may be presented in the February 2023 Committee meeting.
