CapMetro has announced several transportation options for July 4th, including fare suspension after 5 p.m. to encourage residents to use their services for Independence Day events. The agency will operate a Sunday-level bus service on the holiday with detours in Downtown Austin and around Lady Bird Lake. Several bus routes will take customers to Auditorium Shores for fireworks.

After the show, attendees can walk to Lavaca and 4th Streets to catch buses heading north of the river, while those going south have multiple stops available. CapMetro also provides special rail service for Willie Nelson’s Concert at Q2 Stadium but notes that trains will not cover the entire Rail Line on July 4th.

Transportation options are available for fireworks in Lago Vista and Leander. The full list of services can be found on CapMetro’s website.

From July 5-14, CapMetro Rail service will be suspended for track maintenance and construction work on McKalla Station. Braker Lane near CapMetro train tracks will close from July 7 at 7 p.m. until July 12 at 7 a.m., with detours provided.

To accommodate customers during this period, shuttle services from Leander, Lakeline, and Howard stations to Downtown Station will be available. Bus services from other Rail stations to downtown are also offered but not directly to Downtown Station. For more information or real-time updates, customers can call the Customer Service GO Line at 512-474-1200.

CapMetro serves over 70,000 daily weekday trips across its extensive network in Central Texas and remains committed to enhancing regional mobility through initiatives like Project Connect.
