CapMetro will hold a three-day hiring event called ‘New Year, New Career’ from January 16 to 18. The event is designed to connect job seekers with career opportunities as the agency expands its public transportation services in Austin and Central Texas.

The agency is looking for candidates interested in careers in transit, including drivers, mechanics, maintenance staff, and other frontline roles. CapMetro offers paid training programs that include Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) certification, sign-on bonuses up to $5,000, relocation allowances up to $7,500, competitive benefits packages, and opportunities for advancement.

“Our frontline staff are the beating heart of what we do here at CapMetro,” said Dottie Watkins, President & CEO. “Without them, we wouldn’t be able to provide a service depended on daily by so many people in our Central Texas region. As we kick off a new year, we welcome new team members dedicated to serving the community.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring their resumes and be ready for on-site interviews. Representatives from CapMetro will be present to answer questions about job openings and discuss the organization’s values and goals.

The hiring event will take place at 2910 E. 5th Street from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

CapMetro emphasizes its commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. The agency encourages individuals who want to serve the public and make a positive impact on the community to consider joining their team.
