Austin Police seek suspect in hit-and-run involving pedestrian and dog

On October 23, 2025, at around 8:06 p.m., officers from the Austin Police Department responded to a crash in the 1600 block of West Ben White Boulevard. The incident involved a pedestrian, their dog, and a suspect vehicle that left the scene immediately after the collision.

According to police, the pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The individual has since been released. The dog died as a result of the crash.

Authorities are searching for the suspect vehicle, which is described as a two-door Chevrolet pickup truck that is either blue or black in color.

The Austin Police Department encourages anyone with information about this case to submit tips anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. “A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest.”
