Austin police seek suspect in hit-and-run collision on Eastgate Road

A man sustained serious injuries after being struck by a dark four-door pickup truck while loading his work trailer in the 6500 block of Eastgate Road on October 24, 2025. According to the Austin Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 5:21 a.m. The victim was dragged for several yards beneath the vehicle before the driver left the scene without stopping or providing assistance.

Investigators reported that the suspect vehicle was traveling southbound on the service road of Ed Bluestein Boulevard (US HWY 183) before turning onto Eastgate Road and hitting the victim. The pickup then continued along Eastgate Road and turned south onto Smith Road. Authorities believe that the suspect may work in the Smith Road area.

The vehicle involved is described as a dark-colored, four-door pickup truck.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to submit tips anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program at austincrimestoppers.org or by calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest.
