Austin police seek suspect in aggravated assault investigation

On June 3, 2025, Austin Police Department (APD) officers were called to Saint David’s South Austin Hospital following a report of an assault victim with significant life-threatening injuries. The victim was found by witnesses at a homeless encampment in the 1000 block of West Ben White Boulevard and brought to the hospital. Details regarding how or when the assault occurred remain unclear.

Detectives from the Aggravated Assault unit, along with crime scene specialists, are investigating the incident. They have gathered information suggesting that one or more suspects may frequent the area around the homeless encampment where the victim was discovered.

The APD urges anyone with information about this case to contact their Aggravated Assault unit at 512-974-TIPS. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for information leading to an arrest.
