Austin Police seek public’s help identifying suspect in September assault

Austin Police Department (APD) detectives are asking for help from the public to identify a suspect involved in an assault that resulted in injury. The incident occurred at 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the In-N-Out restaurant located at 2700 Guadalupe Street.

According to APD, a male suspect punched a victim and caused injuries in what is believed to be an unprovoked attack.

The suspect is described as an Asian male between 18 and 24 years old, standing between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing between 140 and 150 pounds, with short black hair.

APD urges anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspect to submit tips anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting https://austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. There may be a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
