Austin Police seek public’s help identifying suspect in hit-and-run involving bicyclist

Austin Police Department detectives are seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a hit-and-run collision that resulted in serious bodily injury. The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at approximately 3:35 p.m. near the intersection of West 30th Street and East Drive.

According to police, a White male bicyclist was struck by an unknown vehicle. The driver left the scene without calling emergency services or providing aid to the victim. The injured bicyclist was transported to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening and has since been released.

Investigators have reported that two individuals may have witnessed the incident and flagged down help immediately after it occurred. However, authorities have not yet identified or spoken with these potential witnesses. The Austin Police Department is urging them, or anyone else who may have information about the case, to come forward to assist with the investigation.

“Anyone with information regarding this case should contact the Highway Investigation Tip Line at 512-974-8111. You may also submit your tip anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest,” police stated.

The department continues its efforts to locate both the suspect and additional witnesses as part of their ongoing investigation into this hit-and-run collision.
