Austin Police Department detectives are seeking help from the public to identify a suspect connected to two non-residential burglaries at The Bennett Apartments, located at 7301 S. IH 35 SVRD NB. The incidents occurred on October 1 and October 21, 2025, at approximately 9:45 a.m. and 6:37 p.m., respectively.

According to investigators, the suspect entered the apartment complex without authorization on both occasions. While inside, he accessed the mail room and stole numerous packages belonging to residents. Police say these thefts have caused difficulties for both residents and management of the apartment complex.

The suspect is described as a young Black male with a heavy build, medium-length dreadlocks with tight curls, and an “R” tattoo on his left hand near the bottom of his thumb.

Authorities believe the individual may be involved in other property crimes as well. Anyone with information about these incidents or the identity of the suspect is encouraged to contact APD’s Commercial Burglary Unit at APDCommercialBurglary@austintexas.gov. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest.
