The Austin Police Department (APD) is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Juan Antonio Vazquez Jr., a 24-year-old suspect involved in multiple theft and forgery cases. These incidents occurred between September 19, 2022, and June 7, 2024.

Vazquez is suspected of scamming individuals through online property rentals. According to the APD, he advertises rental properties that he does not own, collects cash for deposits and rent, and when the new tenants arrive to move in, they discover they have no rights to the property.

The APD has provided a photo and description of Vazquez. They encourage anyone with information about his whereabouts to submit tips anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest.
