The Austin Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify the driver of a white minivan involved in a collision that took place during events connected to a triple homicide on August 11, 2025.

According to police, dash camera footage from a private vehicle shows a Honda sedan being struck and spun out on the flyover from Research Boulevard northbound to Mopac Expressway. The video also captures a Toyota 4-Runner, which was stolen by suspect Ethan Nieneker, colliding with another vehicle believed to be a white Dodge Caravan or similar minivan.

Detectives say the crash happened at about 2:18 p.m., during the aftermath of Monday’s triple homicide. Investigators want to speak with the driver of the white minivan both to determine if there were any injuries and to collect more details about what happened. They noted that additional charges could be brought against the suspect based on information related to this collision.

To aid in identifying and locating the driver of the white minivan, APD has released the dash camera video on its YouTube channel. The department encourages anyone who recognizes this vehicle or has information about its driver to contact them at 512-974-TIPS. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program at https://www.austincrimestoppers.org/ or by calling 512-472-8477.
