The Austin Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify a man suspected of assaulting another individual with a baseball bat. The incident took place at around 3 a.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2025, in the 300 block of Colorado Street.

According to police, the altercation began when the victim picked up a crown from the ground. This action appeared to provoke the suspect, who then allegedly struck the victim with a bat. The injuries sustained by the victim were not considered serious, so authorities have classified the case as Assault with Injuries rather than Aggravated Assault.

Police describe the suspect as a Black male in his early 30s, of medium build, with short black hair and a mustache.

Anyone who has information about this incident or can help identify the suspect is encouraged to submit tips anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest.
