Austin police seek help identifying person of interest in June homicide

Austin Police Department (APD) detectives have released images of a person of interest in connection with a recent homicide. The individual is described as a dark-skinned male with short dreadlocks, wearing white shoes, light-colored blue jeans, and a long-sleeve black shirt featuring a large white “S” or possibly a dollar sign on the front.

The public is encouraged to provide any information regarding this person by contacting the Austin Police Department at 512-974-TIPS. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be offered for information leading to an arrest.

The incident occurred on Sunday, June 22, 2025. At approximately 12:29 a.m., APD officers and Austin-Travis County EMS responded to reports of an individual bleeding on the ground at Apple Mart gas station located at 2101 Wickersham Lane. Upon arrival, officers discovered Keaton Delcore with neck trauma. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 1 a.m.

Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists processed the location and interviewed witnesses. Initial findings suggest that Mr. Delcore approached an unidentified male in the parking lot of Apple Mart, resulting in an interaction during which Mr. Delcore was shot before the suspect fled.

Authorities are urging anyone with photos, videos, or potential evidence related to this case to submit them via provided channels.

This incident marks Austin’s 30th homicide for the year 2025.
