The Austin Police Department (APD) has announced that Daniel Choi, who was reported missing on June 29, 2024, has been located and is safe.

Original reports indicated that Choi, a 40-year-old Asian male, was last seen in the 600 block of Davis Street in Austin, Texas. Friends discovered his phone on the ground at Caesar Chavez/South 1st Street around 5:45 p.m., prompting concern from authorities due to his need for medication and lack of personal belongings such as a wallet and phone.

The APD Missing Persons Unit had requested community assistance in locating Choi. The case number associated with this incident is 24-1811111.

Authorities had described Choi’s behavior as out of the ordinary and urged anyone who saw him to call 9-1-1 immediately or contact the APD Missing Person’s Unit at 512-974-5250.
