Austin Police investigating fatal crash at North Lamar and West Anderson

On August 16, 2025, the Austin Police Department responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of North Lamar Boulevard and West Anderson Lane. The crash occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m.

One of the drivers involved was identified as Billie M Crawford, born December 3, 1934. She was transported from the scene to a local hospital. The driver of the second vehicle remained at the location, showed no signs of impairment, and cooperated with law enforcement during the investigation.

Billie Crawford died from her injuries on August 20, 2025, at 11:47 p.m.

The incident is under investigation as Austin’s 66th fatal crash in 2025, resulting in a total of 70 fatalities for the year so far. At this point last year, there had been 56 fatal crashes with 60 deaths. Authorities note that these figures are based on initial assessments and may change as the investigation continues.
