Austin police investigate traffic fatality on Stratford Drive

Austin police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred on the morning of October 30, 2025. Officers responded at about 7:50 a.m. to the 3000 block of Stratford Drive, where they found an unidentified male driver who was pronounced dead at the scene.

This incident marks the city’s 81st fatal crash in 2025, with a total of 85 fatalities so far this year. For comparison, by this date in 2024 there had been 73 fatal crashes and 78 deaths.

According to authorities, “These statements are from the initial assessment of the fatal crash, and the investigation is still pending. Fatality information may change.”
