Austin police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Friday, July 25, 2025, in the 5700 block of E William Cannon Drive. Officers responded to a report of a crash involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian at approximately 7:13 a.m.

The pedestrian, identified as Opendra Bohara, an Asian male born on February 18, 2006, was pronounced dead at the scene. According to authorities, the driver of the vehicle remained at the location and is cooperating with investigators.

This incident marks Austin’s 54th fatal crash of 2025 and has resulted in the city’s 58th traffic-related death this year. For comparison, by this date in 2024 there had been 44 fatal crashes leading to 47 deaths.

Police noted that these statements are based on their initial assessment and that the investigation is ongoing. Details about the incident may change as more information becomes available.
