On Monday, August 11, 2025, a traffic accident occurred at the intersection of South 1st Street and West William Cannon Drive in Austin. The incident involved two vehicles and resulted in the death of one driver. The deceased has been identified as Samson Seablom.
According to the Austin Police Department (APD), officers responded to the crash at 2:37 p.m. The driver of the first vehicle was taken to the hospital for treatment. A pedestrian was also injured by debris from the crash and transported to a medical facility.
This case marks Austin’s 60th fatal crash of 2025, with a total of 64 fatalities reported so far this year. Comparatively, on the same date in 2024, there were 55 fatal crashes leading to 59 deaths.
