Austin police investigate fatal crash involving pedestrian on Airport Boulevard

On August 2, 2025, at around 12:32 a.m., the Austin Police Department responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 2000 block of Airport Boulevard. The driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The pedestrian, identified as Javar R. Quinton, was taken to a local hospital where he later died on August 16, 2025, at 4:02 p.m.

This incident marks Austin’s 63rd fatal crash of the year, resulting in 67 fatalities. In comparison, by this date in 2024, there had been 48 fatal crashes leading to 51 deaths. The investigation into this incident is ongoing and details may change as more information becomes available.
