Austin police investigate fatal collision on Menchaca Road

A fatal collision occurred on June 18, 2025, at 9:48 p.m. in the 11100 block of Menchaca Road, involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian. The Austin Police Department (APD) identified the deceased pedestrian as Nolen Peranton.

The driver involved in the incident stayed at the scene, was not impaired, and is cooperating with authorities. This accident marks Austin’s 44th fatal crash of the year, resulting in a total of 48 fatalities so far in 2025. In comparison, by this date in 2024, there had been 34 fatal crashes leading to 35 deaths.
