The Austin Police Department is responding to a rise in vehicle burglaries occurring at city parks across Austin. These incidents have affected both local residents and visitors, prompting concern about safety in public spaces.

According to the department, patrol and investigative teams have recently identified and arrested several suspects linked to these crimes. Despite these efforts, police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating additional individuals who remain at large. The suspects sought are accused of committing burglaries and using stolen bank cards to make unauthorized purchases on victims’ accounts.

“If you encounter any of these individuals within the Austin City Parks, please do not approach, contact 9-1-1 immediately,” stated the department.

The police urge park visitors to take precautions such as securing valuables in trunks or avoiding leaving them in vehicles altogether when away for long periods. The department also encourages everyone to stay alert and report suspicious activities.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of these suspects is asked to call 9-1-1 or submit tips anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program at austincrimestoppers.org or by calling 512-472-8477. Information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
