The Austin Police Department (APD) has announced the arrest of Agustin Guillen in connection with a fatal traffic incident that occurred on May 6, 2025. The collision took place at approximately 11:38 p.m. on the 2900 block of North Mopac Expressway NB, involving a motor vehicle and a motorcycle.

Guillen was apprehended on June 11, 2025, and is facing charges of Collision Involving Death, categorized as Felony 2. The deceased victim in this case was identified as Shawn Oveisi, who succumbed to his injuries on May 19, 2025.

According to APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit detectives, the driver involved in the crash had left the scene before officers arrived. This incident marks Austin’s 34th fatal crash of the year, contributing to a total of 38 fatalities so far in 2025. Comparatively, by this date last year, there were 24 fatal crashes resulting in an equal number of deaths.

The investigation into this case is ongoing. “These statements are from the initial assessment of the fatal crash,” APD stated. “Fatality information may change.”
