On October 5, 2025, Austin Police Department officers responded to a call reporting a deceased person at 4406 Avenue A #3. Upon arrival, officers found Nitza Debiase, a Hispanic woman born on July 24, 1997, dead in her bedroom. She was pronounced dead at 12:04 p.m.

According to police, homicide detectives and crime scene specialists processed the scene and interviewed witnesses. Their investigation determined that Debiase was physically attacked and strangled by her ex-boyfriend, Paul Allen, a 26-year-old Black male. After the incident, Allen left the area.

On October 9, with assistance from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, Pflugerville Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, and Austin Police Tactical Intelligence and Air Units, authorities located and arrested Allen. He has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with Debiase’s death.

“This case is being investigated as Austin’s 46th homicide of 2025,” according to the police.

The Austin Police Department asks anyone with information about this case to call 512-974-TIPS or submit an anonymous tip through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program at austincrimestoppers.org or by calling 512-472-8477.
