Austin Police Department officers arrested four individuals in connection with a burglary at a residence in the 900 block of West 21st Street on Saturday, September 13, 2025. The incident occurred around 11:12 p.m., when visitors from El Paso staying at an Airbnb in the West Campus area returned to find suspects inside stealing their belongings. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle.

The victims used tracking technology to locate one of their stolen items back to the same block. Officers reviewed security footage and found the suspect vehicle parked nearby, but no suspects were present at that time. The vehicle was towed for evidence. Later, a neighbor saw the suspects return and alerted police, leading officers to detain two burglary suspects and a third person who had arrived to pick them up.

While making these arrests, officers received information about a possible female overdose victim inside the residence. They conducted a welfare check and found a woman who was drifting in and out of consciousness. Emergency medical services transported her to a hospital. According to police, “The female victim made statements saying she had been sexually assaulted and drugged.”

During their search, officers observed materials associated with drug production as well as restraints supporting the victim’s account. Due to potential hazards inside the apartment, police secured the scene and exited.

Shortly after, the resident of the apartment returned and was detained by officers. Detectives from APD’s Burglary, Sex Crimes, Narcotics units, along with members of APD’s Clandestine Lab Team (DEA Task Force), responded to continue investigating.

The following individuals were arrested:

– Octavius Jackson, 36-year-old Black male: Possession of a Controlled Substance; Warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance
– Latasha Fletcher, 36-year-old White female: Possession of a Controlled Substance; Burglary of Residence
– Calvin Guyton, 32-year-old Black male: Burglary of Residence
– James Sailors, 40-year-old White male: Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon; Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance

Police noted that “This complex case involved significant collaboration across APD units, including Patrol, Burglary, Sex Crimes, Narcotics, and the DEA Task Force, and their coordinated efforts ensured the swift detention of suspects and the protection of the victim.”
