Austin Parks Foundation reports over 4,500 volunteers joined It’s My Park Day Spring 2026

The Austin Parks Foundation announced on March 11 that more than 4,500 volunteers participated in the Spring 2026 edition of It’s My Park Day, contributing to the maintenance and improvement of parks, trails, and green spaces across Austin.

The event highlights the ongoing community effort to support public spaces and ensure their accessibility for all residents. The foundation said these volunteer-driven projects are vital for maintaining the quality and safety of local parks.

According to the announcement, a total of 108 park projects took place on March 7 with 4,522 volunteers involved. During these activities, participants removed over 16,000 pounds of trash and spread more than 1,000 cubic yards of mulch throughout various sites. The foundation estimated that these efforts amounted to $455,682 worth of labor and materials contributed in just one morning.

“THANK YOU! Yes, you – and all 4,521 other It’s My Park Day volunteers who came together to make our parks, trails and green spaces better! It truly takes a village, and you guys continue to show up,” the foundation said in its statement. “We are grateful to everyone (project leaders, volunteers and giveback partners) who took part in this city-wide volunteer event. We hope you enjoyed your time creating community in our local parks, trails and green spaces – we hope to see you again on Saturday, November 7 for our fall event!”
