Several changes and events are taking place this week at Austin Parks and Recreation.

Starting Monday, October 27, all weekend tee time reservations for Golf ATX courses will be available exclusively online. This update is intended to address the high demand for public golf courses in Austin. Golfers can reserve weekend slots beginning at 8 p.m. on Mondays for the upcoming Saturday and Sunday by using a registered Golf ATX account. Each account is limited to booking one tee time for up to four players. Reservations for weekdays remain unchanged.

The Joan Means Khabele Bathhouse at Barton Springs Pool will partially open to the public on Tuesday, October 28. The new restrooms and showers, accessible from the pool side of the building, will be available for use. Pool entry will shift to the east side of the facility. While most of the front parking lot will reopen, a small fenced area on the west side will stay closed due to ongoing construction work. The main entry rotunda and west portion of the site also remain closed during this phase.

A ribbon cutting event is scheduled for Saturday, November 1, at 9 a.m., celebrating upgrades at Little Walnut Creek Greenbelt located at 5401 Springdale Rd. The event is free and open to everyone. The greenbelt now offers improved trails, a dog off-leash area, fitness equipment, a climbing boulder, and a play area designed with community input. These enhancements were supported by several organizations including Austin Parks Foundation, Austin City Limits Music Festival, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Shield Ayres Foundation, and Alice Kleberg Reynolds Foundation.

“We hope to see you there as we celebrate new ways to enjoy and connect with nature in East Austin,” stated organizers from Austin Parks and Recreation.
